COLORADO SPRINGS. When George Weigel asked the crowd of 350 gathered at St. Patrick Parish on Nov. 21 why God made them, they responded in unison, “to know Him, to love Him, and to serve Him in this world, and be happy with Him in the next.” Their answer revealed that they learned the Baltimore Catechism prior to the Second Vatican Council, said Weigel, a nationally syndicated columnist and author.

COMMENTARY

By EXCMO. y RVDMO. MONS. MICHAEL J. SHERIDAN, S.Th.D.
