Pope appeals for mercy, generosity for suffering cyclone victims

VATICAN CITY (CNS). Pope Benedict XVI appealed to the world community to be merciful and generous by offering aid and working to relieve the suffering caused by Cyclone Nargis, which killed tens of thousands in Myanmar.

COLORADO SPRINGS. "All human life is sacred. It is created by God. It is the image and likeness of God, and, regardless of a person’s state, their dignity does not stop. That’s the premise for all human interaction, but especially for the care of the sick," according to Father Bill Carmody, pastor of Holy Family Parish in Security and St. Joseph Parish in Fountain and director of the diocesan Respect Life Office.
